10 Outrageously Sexist Ads (12 Photos)

Overjoyed housewives stuck at home, doing nothing but cleaning, cooking and taking care of the kids. That was the reality of an entire era – the forties, the fifties and the sixties. A time when everything, even advertising, was dominated by the casual sexism of the epoch. And to make matters worse, the following adverts, as is quite apparent, were openly demeaning to women and represented them as brainless idiots who belonged in the kitchen and had the sole responsibility of pleasing their men – the breadwinners of the family.

So the question we should be asking ourselves here is have things changed and do we still live in a “man's world”.
