It’s not every day you see a beat-up orange VW Beetle perched on top of a building off of U.S. Highway 93 in northern Montana. Feeling adventurous? Then take a little detour and stop by the Miracle of America Museum, where you’ll get to feast your eyes on more than 150,000 American history artifacts.
Located in the extreme northeastern corner of Montana’s Flathead Reservation, the Miracle of America museum was founded in 1981 by Gil and Joanne Mangels, who have spent many years collecting historical items of every nature and size, from army vehicles to old cookware and appliances. The Mangels’ believe the preservation of such national treasures benefit the young and old alike, as it keeps us connected to our nation’s past and helps rekindle long-forgotten memories.
