Children love few candies more than they love lollipops. As adults, we start to grow out of that a little, but we still enjoy the occasional sucker. But these new light-up lollipops are changing the game.

They seem normal, until you flick on a UV light and see that they light up in the dark. Even though they look a little toxic, they’re perfectly edible. Nothing can stop you from enjoying these awesome lollipops.

INGREDIENTS:
Tonic water – 55 grams
Granulated sugar – 160 grams
Glass 50 grams of glucose or corn syrup
Grated ½ vanilla pod
Juice of ½ lemon

TOOLS:
Lollipop sticks
Silicone mat OR silicone molds OR greaseproof paper
Black light

INSTRUCTIONS:
Place each stick on a cookie sheet lined with the silicone mat.
Remove as much carbonation from the tonic water as possible.
Mix tonic water, sugar, glucose and scrape and juice half of a lemon. Stir until completely dissolved. Heat them in a pot on medium heat for 20 minutes.
Let the contents of the pot bubble until transparent.
When the mixture boils, don’t stir or shake. Check with a thermometer to make sure it reaches 150C. Then, let contents cool until they stop bubbling.
Pour the mixture onto parchment paper in a circular motion until you reach the size you want, then let it cool. Add the sticks.
Wrap the lollipops in a plastic bag and store them in a cool place.

And voila! You have light-up lollipops.
So next time you’re hosting a party, make sure to bust out these lollipops. Your guests will love them.
